DEEP projects developments are relevant for many HPC applications - Learn how.

The DEEP projects' platforms are based on novel architectural concepts offering a lot of possibilities for HPC application developers. This requires, however, some openness or thinking out of the box on user side as well.

But: No need to worry! Over the course of the three projects we continuously develop guidelines on how to approach the DEEP platforms as a newbie.

Our user guides show how to get the optimal performance out of the applications on our platforms. Step by step we show you, what you have to do to optimise an application and we share examples on how application developers can actually realize these optimisations.

The current guidline catalogue is for the DEEP-ER platform. However, most of the optimisations will be helpful on the DEEP-EST platform as well. For a start, analysing and profiling your application will be key also for the new platform. Plus, techniques like e.g. for resiliency and I/O will be kept for the DEEP-EST prototype as well.

 Guidelines

This animated presentation “DEEP/-ER: From a Concept to Application Reality” shows some of the guideline examples.
