Seagate creates space for the human experience by innovating how data is stored, shared and used. Seagate is the worlds leading provider of Data Storage devices, equipment and services. Seagate operates two primary divisions within its corporate operations, Seagate Technology and Seagate Cloud Systems and Solutions (CSS). Seagate Technology is the provider of electronic data storage products including hard disk drives, and solid state storage devices. The products also address extreme performance HPC. The newer CSS division, includes Seagate Systems, created following the merger of eVault and other groups, and the acquisition of Xyratex Technology creating a high capability storage systems development and supply organisation.

A key product line continuing with Seagate is the ClusterStor range of products, which are fully engineered data storage systems with hardware, file systems software and system management software. These systems support some of the world’s most powerful supercomputers. Seagate helps support the Lustre file system and several of their engineers were involved in the original Lustre architecture and design.

Within Seagate Systems (UK), the Emerging Technology Group manages collaborative research activities within Europe and works in concert with development engineering groups.

DEEP-ER

In the DEEP-ER project Seagate Systems was involved in providing next generation Exascale I/O middleware ( E10) software based I/O performance benefits to Exascale class applications.
